The latest drone footage of NEOM in Saudi Arabia shows remarkable progress on the $1 trillion gigaproject.

The footage shared by NEOM’s Chief Operating Officer, Giles Pendleton, shows progress rapid progress on several NEOM projects including The Line, Oxagon, and Sindalah Island.

The Line is planned to be 170km long and 500m high, with accommodation to host 9 million people.

Oxagon is planned as port of the future, and Sindalah Island is due to feature 3 high-end luxury resorts offering 413 rooms and 88 villas across 840,00 square meters.

The LINE: A Vision of the Future

In the heart of Saudi Arabia, a futuristic city is taking shape. This city, known as The LINE, is set to become the home of 9 million residents.

What makes The LINE unique is its design and vision. It’s a city built for people, not cars, and promises to bring daily necessities within a five-minute walk for its residents.

The Backbone of The LINE

The LINE is designed to be a 170km long, 500m high city with a footprint of just 34 sq. km. This innovative city is being built without roads and cars, providing its residents with a unique urban experience. 

High-speed rail service will also serve as the backbone of The LINE, enabling people to travel from one end of the city to the other in just 20 minutes.

Sindalah: The Future of Luxury Resorts

The Sindalah project is another remarkable feature of NEOM’s ambitious plans. The island destination is set to open its doors to guests this year. Covering an area of over 840,000 square meters, Sindalah is envisioned as a luxury island-cluster resort nestled in the Red Sea.

Sindalah is set to redefine luxury with its high-end resorts, yacht club, and many luxury brands. It will feature three large hotels with 413 rooms, 88 villas, and 333 apartments arranged around a marina. With 86 piers and several golf courses.

Four Seasons Sindalah

The Four Seasons Sindalah will provide a variety of upscale accommodations, featuring 225 guest rooms and suites that include terraces with stunning views of the Red Sea. 

Additionally, there are 52 villas to choose from, ranging from one to four bedrooms, each featuring plunge pools and picturesque beach views.

For a truly exclusive experience, guests can indulge in the presidential or royal villas, offering private swimming pools, fully equipped gyms, and access to private yacht docks. 

The renowned Italian firm Luca Dini Design and Architecture, known for its exceptional work in the superyacht industry, has meticulously designed the Four Seasons NEOM Resort. The resort’s aesthetic seamlessly combines elegance and sophistication, promising guests a truly remarkable experience.

The Autograph Collection Sindalah

The Autograph Collection property in Sindalah is expected to open in 2024 and is set to provide guests with memorable and immersive experiences. 

The resort will feature 66 rooms and suites, including one- and two-bedroom villas, as well as various dining options, a kids club, and a spa. These plans aim to leave a lasting impression on visitors.

The Luxury Collection Sindalah

The Luxury Collection is set to unveil two properties in a highly-anticipated island destination, providing global travelers with access to some of the world’s most captivating locations. 

These properties, set to open in 2024, will offer unique and transformative experiences deeply rooted in the essence of the destination. One of the properties will be a beach resort with 70 luxurious rooms and suites, including exclusive one-, two—, three—, and four-bedroom villas equipped with private pools. 

The second project by Marriott, also scheduled to open in 2024, will be an all-suite hotel with 115 extravagant one-, two—, and three-bedroom suites, centrally located in the bustling retail and marina district of Sindalah. 

Both properties under The Luxury Collection will boast a variety of dining options and recreational amenities.

Oxagon: Reshaping Ports and Logistics

The Oxagon project, another jewel in NEOM’s crown, is set to revolutionize ports and logistics. The design of Oxagon features an octagonal port, where part of the city is located on land while a significant portion extends into the Red Sea on a floating structure.

It will be a fully sustainable, zero-carbon city and the world’s first integrated port and supply chain ecosystem. 

Strategically located on the Red Sea coast near the town of Duba, Oxagon is expected to generate around 90,000 jobs by 2030.

Oxagon’s Unique Design

Oxagon’s design is as unique as its vision. It is planned to be a floating port city to serve as a key connection point for ships traveling through the Suez Canal. 

The distinctively shaped octagonal port will be part land-based and part floating structure, extending into the sea. Alongside port facilities, the development will house a cruise terminal, an oceanographic research center, and luxury hotels.

YOTEL Oxagon

YOTEL, a renowned global hospitality brand known for its innovative approach, has announced its first hotel agreement in Saudi Arabia. The property, which is expected to launch in 2025, will be the inaugural hotel in Oxagon. 

The hotel will be situated in the Research and Innovation (R&I) area of Oxagon and will focus strongly on cutting-edge technology. Featuring 300 rooms, the Yotel Hotel will showcase the brand’s distinctive robotic concierges, motorized SmartBeds, and fully integrated technologies. 

Guests will have access to Komyuniti, the brand’s versatile dining and co-working space, a round-the-clock fitness center, a Grab-and-Go Café, and meeting rooms for networking purposes.

Hotel Indigo Oxagon

NEOM has signed a franchise agreement with IHG Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel company, to establish a new Hotel Indigo location in Oxagon. This 250-key property will be located in Oxagon’s first residential community and will open in 2026. 

The Hotel Indigo in Oxagon will serve as a lifestyle hub, featuring various retail and dining options such as cafes, a pool lounge, and a specialty restaurant. Guests and residents can also access various leisure and wellness amenities, including a spa and 24-hour fitness center.

House Residence by Kerten Hospitality

In 2025, Kerten Hospitality‘s venture, the House Residence, will be hosted by the Oxagon project in NEOM, focusing on residential living. With a goal to enhance human living experiences, the property will offer 200 serviced apartments.

The House Residence at Oxagon in NEOM represents more than just a building project, it represents a dedication to redefining living spaces, fostering vibrant communities, and transforming human experiences.

Countering the Skeptics
