Introducing Hidden Marina

NEOM, Saudi Arabia’s visionary $1 Trillion mega-project, will take a major step forward to unveil Hidden Marina, the first phase of its ambitious urban development known as THE LINE.
This groundbreaking initiative represents a paradigm shift in urban planning and design, promising to redefine city living for the 21st century and beyond.
As the first physical manifestation of THE LINE, Hidden Marina is a testament to NEOM’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in urban development.
Hidden Marina’s Modular Design

The development introduces a fully integrated, vertical city built in modular 800-meter sections. This approach maximizes land use efficiency while creating a unique urban landscape that incorporates various functions vertically rather than horizontally.
Three interconnected modules form the core of Hidden Marina, creating a seamless urban design that facilitates easy movement and interaction between different areas of the development.

Each module can be tailored to specific needs and functions, creating a diverse and adaptable urban environment that can evolve with the changing needs of its inhabitants.
Height and Scale of Hidden Marina

Rising to an impressive height of 500 meters, Hidden Marina creates a striking vertical profile that redefines the skyline. This vertical orientation allows for integrating diverse functions within a compact footprint, maximizing space utilization and creating a unique urban experience.
Record Built-up Area of Hidden Marina

With a built-up area exceeding 21 million square meters, Hidden Marina surpasses global landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, which has a built-up area of only 350,000 square meters. This vast scale allows for integrating a wide range of functions and amenities within a single development.
Residential Capacity of Hidden Marina

Upon completion, Hidden Marina will have the capacity to house over 200,000 residents, establishing itself as a new benchmark in urban density. This high-capacity design aims to create a vibrant, diverse community within a compact urban footprint.
Residential Units at Hidden Marina

The development will feature more than 80,000 residential units, offering diverse housing options to cater to different preferences and needs. These units will maximize comfort and efficiency within the vertical city structure.
Hospitality Facilities of Hidden Marina

With 9,000 hotel rooms planned, Hidden Marina aims to become a major destination for business and leisure travelers. These hospitality facilities will be integrated seamlessly into the urban fabric, offering unique experiences that leverage the development’s innovative design.
Commercial and Retail Spaces

Extensive commercial and retail spaces will be incorporated throughout the development, creating a vibrant economic ecosystem within Hidden Marina. These spaces will cater to many businesses, from small local enterprises to large international corporations.
Essential Services at Hidden Marina

Critical infrastructure such as fire stations, schools, and security services will be embedded within the city to support its growing population. These essential services will be strategically located to ensure quick response times and easy access for all residents.
Environmental Sustainability

The development will incorporate extensive green spaces and vertical gardens throughout its structure, creating a lush urban environment that enhances air quality and provides natural cooling. These green areas will also serve as recreational spaces for residents and visitors.
Advanced water management systems will be implemented to minimize water consumption and maximize recycling. These systems will include rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, and smart irrigation technologies to develop green spaces.
Construction Progress of Hidden Marina

Construction on Hidden Marina is well underway, with significant progress made on the foundational infrastructure and initial modules.

Over 140,000 workers are currently engaged in the construction of NEOM, and more than 5,000 are dedicated specifically to Hidden Marina. This diverse workforce represents over 100 nationalities, with 40% comprising local Saudi talent.
The LINE: NEOM’s Revolutionary Linear City

THE LINE’s ambitious scale sets it apart from any historical urban development project. With a planned length of 170 kilometers, a width of 200 meters, and a height of 500 meters, the city will rank among the world’s tallest structures upon completion.
The Mirror Facade of THE LINE

The exterior of THE LINE is designed to feature a mirror facade, reflecting the surrounding desert landscape. This architectural choice serves both aesthetic and functional purposes, helping the structure blend seamlessly with its environment while contributing to temperature regulation within the city.
A City Without Cars

One of the most striking features of THE LINE is its commitment to a car-free environment. The city aims to create a more pedestrian-friendly urban space that promotes walking, cycling, and innovative public transportation systems by eliminating the need for traditional road networks.

This approach reduces carbon emissions and reclaims vast areas typically dedicated to roads and parking, allowing for more green spaces and community areas.
Accommodating Millions at THE LINE

Once fully realized, THE LINE is expected to house approximately 9 million residents, rivaling major global cities like London or New York’s five boroughs.
This population density and the city’s unique linear and vertical design present challenges and opportunities in urban planning and management.
Redefining Urban Living

The unveiling of Hidden Marina marks a significant milestone in developing NEOM and THE LINE. As the first tangible manifestation of this ambitious vision, Hidden Marina offers a glimpse into a potential future of urban living that is both revolutionary and inspiring.
