Flynas has launched a new hub in The Holy City of Al Madinah at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport, introducing six new routes. The 2 new domestic routes include Abha and Tabuk, and 4 international routes include Dubai, Amman, Istanbul, and Ankara.
This aligns with national goals of connecting to 250 international destinations by 2030 and increasing passenger numbers to 330 Million.
The new routes will complement the existing four destinations from Madinah, namely Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Cairo, bringing the total number of destinations served by Flynas from the new Madinah hub to ten.
In a bold move aimed at meeting the rising demand for travel to Madinah, particularly among pilgrims and visitors to the holy mosque, Flynas has inaugurated its newest operational base at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah.
Flynas has partnered with Tibah Airports Operation Co. to establish a new operational hub at Madinah Airport. This strategic decision is part of the carrier’s ongoing efforts to broaden its reach and facilitate easier access to the Two Holy Mosques and Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP).
Pilgrims Experience Program
The Pilgrims Experience Program(PEP), which was launched in 2019 as part of Vision 2030, aims to host 15 million international Umrah pilgrims annually by 2025. It is dedicated to serving millions of pilgrims in Saudi Arabia and welcoming tourists who travel to the Kingdom from around the world.
The Pilgrim Experience Program provides pilgrims with world-class facilities, infrastructure, and digitalized services, ensuring that each individual enjoys a unique and memorable spiritual journey that stays with them forever.
A Unique Feet
With the addition of the new base in Madinah, Flynas takes pride in being the only carrier to operate from four bases in Saudi Arabia. This achievement highlights the airline’s rapid growth and underscores its commitment to facilitating seamless connectivity nationwide.
Aligning with National Objectives
Flynas’ latest expansion aligns with the Kingdom’s broader strategic objectives. The National Civil Aviation Strategy aims to connect 250 international destinations to the Kingdom, reach 330 million passengers, and attract 100 million tourists annually by 2030.
Flynas, as a national air carrier, plays a crucial role in contributing to these ambitious goals.
A Response to High Demand
Commenting on the new development, Bander Almohanna, CEO and Managing Director of Flynas, highlighted that the decision to launch a new operational base and inaugurate new routes directly responded to the high demand for Madinah.
He noted that more new destinations and routes will be announced, indicating the airline’s continued commitment to growth and service enhancement.
Upscaling the Fleet for Expansion
Flynas’ ability to operate ten routes from the new base can be attributed to the significant upscaling of its all-Airbus fleet in less than two years. This fleet expansion aligns with the airline’s growth plan launched last year under the slogan “We Connect the World to the Kingdom.”
The plan led to signing an agreement with Airbus for 30 new A320neo Family aircraft last June, within an order of 120 A320neo, thereby increasing the total orders to 250 aircraft.
Since its inception in 2007, Flynas has made significant strides in the aviation industry. It currently connects over 70 domestic and international destinations with more than 1500 weekly flights and has flown more than 60 million passengers.
The airline aims to reach 165 domestic and international destinations, reflecting its commitment to the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Flynas’ latest expansion with the new operational base at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah and six new routes underline the airline’s steadfast commitment to growth, service enhancement, and alignment with the Kingdom’s strategic objectives.
With these developments, Flynas continues to pave the way for an exciting future in air travel, promising more connectivity, more convenience, and more opportunities for travelers across the globe.
