The King Abdullah Financial District KAFD has awarded the Abu Dhabi-based construction company, Taj Dhabi, part of the Trojan Construction Group the contract for 2 new projects in the financial district which include the construction of multiple office towers, plazas, and parks.
Taj Dhabi’s New Projects in KAFD
Under its first partnership with KAFD’s Development and Management Company (KAFD DMC), Taj Dhabi will be designing and building two vital projects within the business district. These include a multi-purpose complex involving two office towers and a retail development.
Multi-Purpose Complex: The complex will consist of two office towers, each comprising eight floors. Additionally, it will be equipped with a retail podium, lush parks, plazas, and a provision for parking spread over four levels.
Retail Development: The retail development will boast food and beverage outlets and luxury retail areas surrounded by landscaped zones. It will also feature parking spaces spread over five floors.
Towards Sustainable Development
Taj Dhabi’s construction projects align with the brand’s commitment to sustainable development. “Our mission is to prioritize excellence, health, safety, and environmental consciousness in all our projects,” said Eng Mohamed Mahmoud, CEO of Taj Dhabi.
The new developments in KAFD align with this mission, contributing to the growth and development of Riyadh’s business district. The projects will not only enhance KAFD’s infrastructure but also diversify provisions for tenants, residents, and visitors.
KAFD: The Heart of Riyadh’s Economic Ambitions
Located in the heart of Riyadh, the Saudi capital, KAFD is a landmark development that has reshaped the skyline of the city. The district is home to 1.6 million square meters of state-of-the-art office space, world-class venues, and iconic luxury residences.
As the world’s largest Platinum LEED-certified mixed-use business district, KAFD represents the future of urban living. Its state-of-the-art physical and digital infrastructure makes it a key driver of Riyadh’s economic aspirations.
A Global Leader in Sustainability
KAFD’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its LEED Platinum certification. LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, is a globally recognized green building certification system. It indicates that a building or community has been designed and built with environmental friendliness in mind.
KAFD’s commitment to sustainability goes beyond its buildings. The district features energy-efficient initiatives such as District Cooling Plants, LED street lights, and renewable energy sources. It also has a site-wide automated waste collection system and infrastructure designed to encourage walkability.
A New Chapter for Taj Dhabi
The new projects in KAFD mark a new chapter for Taj Dhabi. As a company dedicated to delivering high-quality, sustainable developments, Taj Dhabi is excited to contribute to the growth of KAFD.
“We are fully confident in the capabilities of Taj Dhabi. Their enthusiasm for the project is infectious”, said Gautam Sashittal, CEO of KAFD DMC.
Eng Mohamed Mahmoud echoed this sentiment, expressing delight at being awarded these two new developments in KAFD. “It is a testament to our ability to deliver high-quality work”, he said.
