Purchasing Airbus’ New Aircrafts

AviLease, the aircraft leasing company owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), has made headlines with its recent announcement to acquire up to 77 new Airbus aircraft.
This significant move, revealed during the prestigious Paris Air Show, marks a pivotal moment in AviLease’s journey to solidify its position as a leading player in the global aircraft leasing market.
Details of the Airbus Aircraft Order

The recent agreement includes a total of 77 aircraft, comprising:
- 55 A320neo Family Aircraft: Known for their fuel efficiency and advanced technology, these aircraft are designed to meet the evolving needs of airlines and passengers alike.
- 22 A350F Freighters: These freighters are specifically tailored for cargo operations, offering improved loading capabilities and extended range, making them ideal for meeting the growing demand for air freight.
Delivery Timeline

Deliveries of the newly ordered aircraft are scheduled to take place through 2033, allowing AviLease to strategically integrate these assets into its existing fleet. This timeline provides the company with the flexibility to align deliveries with market demand and operational requirements.
Fuel Efficiency of New Airbus Aircraft

One of the key advantages of the A320neo and A350F aircraft is their fuel efficiency. The A350F, in particular, boasts at least a 20% reduction in fuel consumption compared to previous models.
This not only translates to cost savings for airlines but also aligns with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the aviation sector. By incorporating these advanced aircraft into its fleet, AviLease is taking a proactive step towards sustainability.
Boeing Acquisition by AvilLase

This Airbus deal follows AviLease’s recent acquisition of 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, marking another significant step in the company’s growth trajectory.
With a total of 107 new aircraft orders within a short span, AviLease is rapidly expanding its portfolio and enhancing its competitive edge in the aircraft leasing market.
Financial Backing and Support

To support its ambitious expansion plans, AviLease secured a $1.5 billion unsecured revolving credit facility in April.
This financial backing, which attracted commitments from 20 international banks, underscores the confidence investors have in AviLease’s growth potential. The facility will enable the company to finance its fleet expansion and operational initiatives effectively.
Aligning with National Goals

The acquisition of these aircraft aligns seamlessly with Saudi Arabia’s broader aviation strategy, which aims to elevate the country’s annual passenger capacity to 330 million and increase cargo throughput to 4.5 million tonnes by 2030.
This ambitious vision is part of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 initiative, which seeks to diversify the economy and enhance its status as a regional aviation hub.

By investing in the latest generation of fuel-efficient aircraft, AviLease is not only expanding its operational capabilities but also contributing to the national agenda.
Strengthening AviLease’s Market Position

This order represents AviLease’s first direct engagement with Airbus, a significant milestone for the company. The strategic investment reinforces AviLease’s ambition to become one of the top 10 global aircraft lessors.

With the addition of these modern aircraft, AviLease is poised to enhance its service offerings to airline partners both domestically and internationally. The dual order of A320neo and A350F aircraft underscores the company’s commitment to providing cutting-edge, fuel-efficient fleet solutions.
Shaping Aviation Landscape

By aligning its strategy with Saudi Arabia’s national goals and investing in modern, fuel-efficient aircraft, AviLease is positioning itself as a key player in the global aviation landscape.
With strong leadership, financial backing from PIF, and a commitment to innovation, AviLease is poised for continued success in the dynamic world of aircraft leasing.
