Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has announced plans to build 3 new golf courses within the next 3 years to triple the country’s total courses. 

The courses include Shura Links, Laheq Golf Course, and Trojena Northern Golf Course in the Sarwat Mountains featuring LIV golfer Graeme McDowell in its design.

Plans for all three courses will be shown at major golf events worldwide with the aim of redefining golf and creating something distinctly Saudi.

Located on Shura Island along the stunning Red Sea coast, Shura Links is set to be a premier golfing destination. Designed by Curley-Wagner Design, this course will feature a par of 72 and stretch over 7,601 yards. 

The course is expected to open its doors in September 2025, offering breathtaking views and a challenging layout for golfers of all skill levels.

Laheq Golf Course

Nestled near the Red Sea, Laheq Golf Course promises to be a remarkable addition to Saudi Arabia’s golfing landscape. 

Also designed by Curley-Wagner, this course will emphasize environmental sustainability while providing an exhilarating golfing experience. The anticipated opening date for Laheq Golf Course is set for 2028.

Trojena Northern Golf Course

Situated in the Sarwat Mountains, Trojena Northern Golf Course will be designed by renowned golfer Graeme McDowell and his team at McDowell & Dusenberry Design. 

This mountain-top course will offer a unique alpine-inspired golfing experience, blending natural beauty with challenging gameplay. While an official opening date has yet to be announced, the anticipation surrounding this course is palpable.
