Riyadh Season 2023 Attracts 2 Million Visitors In First 2 Weeks

Riyadh Season 2023, themed ‘Big Time,’ has already drawn two million visitors within the opening weeks, targeting 10-12 million total attendees, including 1 Million from outside the kingdom. It has already achieved 40% of its targeted revenue through sponsorship and large deals. 

This year’s Riyadh Season offers several zones, including Boulevard City, Via Riyadh, The Groves, and Wonder Garden.

A Brief History of Riyadh Season

The Riyadh Season is an annual festival hosted in Saudi Arabia. It usually kicks off in October and lasts throughout the winter months. The event commenced in 2019 and is now in its fourth edition. The inaugural edition marked an impressive turnout of seven million visitors.

The Vision 2030 Initiative

The Riyadh Season is a part of the Vision 2033 agenda, an initiative of the Saudi Tourism Authority. Under this agenda, the authority has announced several projects and initiatives to boost tourism in the country.

According to Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), the event expects 10 to 12 million visitors this year. 

He added, “The Riyadh Season, in its fourth edition, has achieved 40 percent of its targeted revenue through sponsorship and some large deals even before it started.” Some of the notable sponsors included:

Boulevard Riyadh City is one of the biggest zones in the season. Triple in size this year, each of the sub-areas features its own set of activities, restaurants, events, and outlets that are catered to all visitors.

For the first time in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh will host the Disney Castle for the first time. All ages will be able to delight in live performances featuring beloved Disney characters, marking a celebratory occasion in honor of Disney’s 100th anniversary.

Expanded in 120 days, the bigger venue will host 33 international shows and concerts featuring some of the best global artists and unique global experiences.
